About

I coordinate a mental health peer support program in Vancouver, British Columbia and edit On Our Way: Recovery News. I’m new to wordpress and am in the process of learning my way around, but plan to use the site to explore issues related to peer support, mental health and recovery. I’ll also feature selected articles from On Our Way: Recovery News.

I hope you like the site. If you have suggestions for me they are most welcome!

Also, check out the peer-run  Spotlight on Mental Health Website for news, resources and opportunities of interest to folks receiving mental health services and their supporters –  particularly for those who live in the Vancouver area.

  1. I love your blog. It is well written and presented, clear, honest and most importantly eye-opening. I think the stories you publish are some of the best depictions of different conditions, breaking apart stigma the way it should be.

  2. My name is Dafne Blanco, I am Headlines Theatre’s Community Outreach coordinator. I wanted to introduce you to our current main stage project maladjusted. The play has been created and performed by patient and caregivers to explore solutions to a mechanizing mental health system, and opens on March 8 at the Firehall Arts Centre in Vancouver.

You may also be interested in the maladjusted dialogue series, two days of panels and community discussions to open the space for a dialogue on the cost, chemicalization and mechanics of mental health care.

We are providing free tickets to low-income clients. Please let me know if you could distribute some throughout the Peer Support network.
